Welcome to my site

During several years I toured various landfills; been on all fours, crawled and climbed on mountains of waste piles with my camera around my neck. Landfills have been my personal challenges to conquer, my Mount Everest, my pilgrimage.

The images reflect the metaphor of our time, where people are treated as if they were to be recycled, disposable and easily replaced.

Can something that has been discarded as being useless unnecessary garbage be meaningful and functional?

Recycling has many faces. Revelations can be found behind every discarded object. Not a forgotten past, but instead, a hopeful future.

Above all, the images subscibe to four cornerstones: tolerance, caring, humanity and Dignity

All images of objects in the three books and photography exhibitions  belong to the Dignity by Philip László collection. A STATEMENT, BEAUTY OF RECYCLING and THE FORGOTTEN have all been shot on location at various landfills exactly as they were brought there. In my camera viewfinder I turned them into what I wanted them to be.

My four exhibits have been in

  • Laterna Magica, Helsinki, Finland (2010 and 2012)
  • The Vyborg Castle, Vyborg, Russia (2014)
  • River Gallery, Chattanooga, TN, USA (2015)
